Insul-Guides for Use on Flat Surfaces
Rilco recently manufactured insulation guides from polyurethane insulation as a pre-insulated pipe support solution for a low-temperature pipeline application. These supports are designed to be used on flat surfaces. They are designed for service temperatures ranging from -425 deg. F to + 275 deg F (-253 to +135 deg C). They are fabricated with carbon steel square bases that are galvanized. All exposed surfaces of the polyurethane foam are coated with a monolar mastic to protect against any moisture damage.
They are designed for ease of installation and the insulation is cut to match the line insulation layering schedule. The supports are typically attached to the low temperature pipeline using banding compatible with the line insulation jacketing. Both single layer and double layer insulation are available. Insul-guides are recommended as a low-cost solution for low-temperature pre-insulated pipe support needs.
The insul-guide model featured in the photo above is a Rilco IG-180-DL-R model. They are available with polyurethane insulation as a resting or guiding pipe support. If being utilized as a guide, the guide load is not to exceed 20% of the vertical load.
